International students who came to Ehime University on the short-term acceptance program (summer) in 2024 took Japanese classes by Japanese language instructors. The participants this time were 2 students from National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) ,Taiwan and 10 students from University of Malaya(UM), Malaysia.
The Japanese class was held four times, and the students had fun learning difficult Japanese through the instructor’s creative lessons and deepened their understanding of the language.
On July 30, 2024, we held an orientation for international students who came to Japan as part of the Faculty of Engineering’s short-term overseas exchange program.
The participants this time were 6 students from Faculty of Engineering and 4 students from Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya, Malaysia.
International students will stay at our university for one month and conduct research in their specialized field.
At the orientation, Chairman Itagaki of the International Collaboration Committee gave an explanation about Ehime University’s reserarch programs and their stay in Matsuyama city.

On Friday, July 19, 2024, a departure ceremony was held for eight students who will be studying abroad at Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, University of Malaya in Malaysia.
学生は派遣先大学に約一か月滞在し、研究室で実験やリサーチを行い、現地の学生と交流を深めます。
Students will stay at the host university for one month, conducting experiments and research in the laboratory, and deepening interactions with local people.
Each student will depart to study abroad with some purposes. One student said he wanted to break out of his shy shell and actively talk with local people, and another said he wanted to further deepen his research activities there.
At the ceremony, Dean of Engineering Moriwaki gave three pieces of advice to the students. First, to try to immerse yourselves in English every day since you’re studying abroad. The second is to act with Japanese awareness. The third thing is to know Japan well and be able to talk about it to local people.
最後に、逞しくなって帰国したみなさんと元気に再会したいとのお話がありました。
Lastly, the Dean talked that he’d like to reunite with the students who has returned to Japan in good health and more strength.
Eight students participating in the short-term overseas dispatch program attended four English Classes. The class focused on English conversation, and the students tried to expand their conversation.
留学を前に、学生は熱心に受講し、新しいフレーズ等を講師から学びました。
Before studying abroad, the students enthusiastically attended the classes and learned new phrases from the instructor.
At the briefing session, International Cooperation Committee Chairman Itagaki explained about safety management and emergency communication flow when studying abroad. The students were also advised to carefully read past study abroad experiences in the provided guidebook and to research the destination country (Malaysia, Indonesia) in advance.
