令和６年１０月２８日月曜日に、南加記念ホールにて短期海外派遣プログラムに参加した学生による留学報告会を行いました。

On Monday, October 28, 2024, a study abroad report session was held at Nanka Memorial Hall by students who participated in the short-term overseas study program.

派遣学生が留学で得た貴重な経験を他の学生たちに伝えるため、毎年報告会を開催しています。報告会には、教員や学生に加え、短期海外受入プログラムで滞在中の留学生も含めた約５０名が参加しました。

Every year, a presentation session is held to share the valuable experiences the dispatch students gained during their study abroad with other students. Approximately 50 people participated in the presentation session, including faculty, students, and international students currently studying in Japan on short-term overseas program.

理工学研究科（工学系講座）では、大学院学生の国際交流プログラムの一環として短期海外派遣プログラムを実施しています。今年度は、インドネシア・バンドン工科大学に４名、ガジャマダ大学に１名、マレーシア・マラヤ大学に３名を派遣しました。

The Graduate School of Science and Engineering (Engineering Courses) implements a short-term overseas study program as part of its international exchange program for graduate students. This year, four students were sent to Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia, one to Gadjah Mada University, and three to University of Malaya in Malaysia.

今回の短期海外派遣プログラムで、以前留学した大学を再訪することができた学生もいました。

Some students even returned to the university they had previously studied at for the short-term study abroad program.

報告会では、派遣プログラム参加学生がそれぞれの留学体験について報告しました。派遣先大学での研究活動や生活について、環境の異なる異国での苦い経験　”スパイシーな留学”　を発表する学生もいました。参加者は興味深い発表に耳を傾け、発表者に様々な質問を出していました。

At the presentation session, students who participated in the program reported on their experiences studying abroad. They talked about their research activities and their life at the host university, and about their “spicy study abroad” experiences in a foreign country with a totally different environment. Participants listened to the interesting presentations and asked the presenters a variety of questions.

ある学生は、留学先の水質汚染を目の当たりにし、環境汚染について考える良い機会になったと言います。

One student said that the experience of witnessing the water pollution in the place where he studied abroad was a good opportunity to think about environmental pollution.

ある学生は、インドネシアの美味しいコーヒーについても紹介しました。

One student introduced tasty Indonesian coffee.

留学中に、新しい研究題材を見つけた学生もいました。

One student found a new research topic while studying abroad.

留学先の寮の施設や交通手段など、将来の留学生にたくさんの役立つ情報を教えてくれました。

She provided a lot of useful information for future international students, such as the facilities in the dormitory and transportation options.

留学先での研究活動について、興味津々な留学生も。

International students were curious about research activities at their host universities and asked a lot of questions.

派遣先大学での実験がうまくいかず、失敗したこともありました。

At the host university, his experiments sometimes didn’t go well.

留学先で役に立ったアプリについての情報も。

She provided us information about useful apps for staying abroad.

派遣学生は、現地に行ってこそ味わえる経験ができるため、時間のある学生の間に本プログラムで是非留学をして欲しいと伝えていました。

The students encouraged other students to study abroad through this program while they still had the time, as the experiences they gained could only be had by going abroad.

報告会の後、国際連携委員会の板垣委員長より来年度プログラムについて説明がありました。

After the presentation, Chairman Itagaki of the International Cooperation Committee gave an explanation of next year’s program.
